Porto Coffee Week - learn to taste coffee with the professionals

Porto Coffee Week is the largest coffee festival in Portugal and in 2025 it celebrates its fourth edition, bringing with it a unique celebration of the culture and passion for coffee.

This is a festival organised by Tasteology the team behind Lisbon Coffee Week, the subscription that brings the best Portuguese coffee to your home and much more.

Porto Coffee Week - unlimited coffee tastings at this festival in Portugal

Tasteology was born in 2022 out of a passion for coffee and community.

In 2022, in the aftermath of the pandemic, we created the first national festival dedicated to speciality coffee with the aim of making Porto smell like coffee. From the success of the first edition, we then grew into the first Coffee Market in 2023, during the second edition of Porto Coffee Week. The second edition of Portugal's biggest coffee festival had over 1000 participants, 20 talks, 3 championships and 10 workshops over 7 unmissable days.

Meanwhile, in 2024, we brought the smell of coffee to Lisbon and embraced the capital's community to showcase the best of what is being done in the world of coffee in Portugal. We closed the year with the third edition of Porto Coffee Week with more than 20 speciality coffee roasters present, the first edition of the SCA Cup Tasters and Brewers Cup championships, the Portugal Best Coffee Roaster awards and more than 2000 participants!

In May 2025 we returned to Lisbon with 7 unique days of events for all levels of coffee knowledge and the AeroPress Portugal championship.

Frequently asked questions about the largest coffee festival

If you can't find the answer to your question, please contact us.

Porto Coffee Week is the biggest coffee festival in Portugal.

There are 7 days dedicated to coffee and, above all, to celebrating coffee culture. The events range from workshops to parties, championships, lectures and culminate in the largest Coffee Market in Portugal.

In its fourth edition, Porto Coffee Week returns with new workshops, more talks, championships and lots of coffee!

We want to bring the smell of coffee to the city of Porto, so the workshops and parties of this coffee festival are spread throughout the city. See where all the pop-up events are here.

The Coffee Market will be held at the Alfândega do Porto from 3rd to 5th October.

For seven days Porto smells like coffee again.

From Monday to Thursday you'll find Porto Coffee Week events all over the city, with workshops taking place in coffee shops, restaurants and schools.

Finally, between Friday and Sunday, the country's biggest coffee festival takes you to the Coffee MarketThe largest coffee market, where you can taste speciality coffees, attend lectures, championships and much more.

Porto Coffee Week is designed not only for coffee professionals - producers, importers, entrepreneurs, roasters and baristas - but also for the end consumer, with talks and competitions for all levels of coffee knowledge.

A coffee festival for everyone.

Porto Coffee Week has international speakers and participants from all over the world, so this year Porto Coffee Week will take place mainly in English.

However, some speakers may not be comfortable, so some talks and workshops will be given in Portuguese.

At every event we will always have staff are available to help you translate if you have language difficulties and want to take part.

So check the language you'll be guided in at each event and, if you have any questions, get in touch with us.

Yes, our photographers will be identified, as well as any press who may attend.

By buying tickets for Porto Coffee Week you are agreeing to be photographed and filmed within the framework of the events, as well as allowing us to use your image to publicise the event in the future.

Photographs and videos taken by visitors

As you understand, we want to protect the integrity of the festival, our speakers and exhibitors. Therefore, if you intend to photograph or film parts of the event, we ask that you exercise common sense and abide by some basic rules.

Although you may photograph or film during Porto Coffee Week for personal use, you may not sell any photos or videos of the festival. Please respect the privacy of other participants who may not wish to be filmed or photographed.

Photography, recorded video and audio and children

The safety of children is very important to us, so images or voices of children used online will not identify the child unless we have permission from the child's carers to do so.

The Coffee Market is completely accessible to people with reduced mobility and wheelchairs, however we can't guarantee access to all the workshops for people with reduced mobility, as the various spaces where they will take place may not be accessible. So if you need assistance, please contact us.

This year's Coffee Market will have exhibitors from all areas of coffee, from speciality coffee micro-roasters to professional espresso equipment.

See all the exhibitors here.

All roasters will be provided with coffee and coffee drinks with Alpro Barista plant-based beverages (cappuccinos, flat whites or similar).

Try as many coffees as you like, you can repeat the roasts and try all the coffees available.

Of course! Above all, Porto Coffee Week is a community event. So children up to the age of 14 are welcome and don't pay for a ticket as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult.

What's more, all the toasters will be able to make vegetable drink babyccinos for the children and we'll have a surprise for the little ones!

We'll have hand-picked street food restaurants where you can buy food throughout the day.

In line with our sustainability objectives, we will only have vegetarian or vegan options available. Help us have a more sustainable coffee festival.

Although we love our four-legged friends, due to space restrictions we will not be able to accept dogs at Porto Coffee Week 2025 events, including the Coffee Market, except for guide dogs.

We'll be happy to help you, so send us or an e-mail to hello@portocoffeeweek.pt or contact us by WhatsApp on +351 916 419 826.
