data-end=\"274\">Latte Art Throwdown<\/em> Do Porto Coffee Week 2026 is a battle of talent and precision, dedicated to baristas who master the art of drawing with coffee. With 16 participants competing head-to-head in a direct elimination format, this championship challenges the consistency, creativity, and coolness of the best latte artists in the country.<\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"590\" data-end=\"958\">Over four intense rounds, the competitors will have to replicate the randomized patterns from the Coffee Week deck of cards, using only a single vaporized vegetable drink and a single shot of espresso. The coffees will be brewed by baristas from the organization and the designs will be presented directly to the judges\u2019 table \u2013 with no room for errors or tweaks.<\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1275\" data-end=\"1515\">The Top 3 will be rewarded with products <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tasteology.pt\/\">Tasteology<\/a><\/strong>, Barista accessories and, of course, coffee. competitor uses \u00bd shot (one side of the double filter holder), except in the final<\/li><li>Compulsory vegetable drink (without additives)<\/li><li>Cups and milk jugs will be provided, but you may use your own milk jugs.<\/li><li>No additives, pens or drawing utensils allowed<\/li><\/ul><h3>Execution<\/h3><ul><li>Each round begins with the drawing of a card from the Coffee Week deck<\/li><li>The pattern drawn must be replicated by both contestants<\/li><li>Only one vapourisation is allowed per round. If the consistency or quantity fails, the competitor must continue<\/li><li>After preparation, the contestant must take the drink to the judges' table:<ul><li>If the drink spills because of an error on the part of the organisers, they both repeat.<\/li><li>If the drink spills due to a mistake on the part of the competitor or an excess of liquid, it cannot be cleaned or made again.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>If there is a catch in the cup, the symmetry with respect to the same <strong>will be evaluated<\/strong>.<\/li><li>5-minute practice round per competitor before the start of the event.<\/li><\/ul><h3>Judgement<\/h3><ul><li>The judges can't see the contestants serving<\/li><li>Jury: 3 judges + 1 head-judge (in the event of a tie)<\/li><li>The judges have 30 seconds to decide after silent observation<\/li><li>The decision is made by pointing to the chosen cup after counting down from 3...2...1<\/li><li>Judges' decisions are final<\/li><\/ul><h3>Semi-final<\/h3><ul><li>In the semi-final, the finalists will be presenting the cups of Porto Coffee Week 2026 \u2013 which they will take home with them!<\/li><li><strong>This glass cup has a handle and the symmetry of the handle will be evaluated.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><h3>Wild Card<\/h3><h4><strong>Blindly and against the clock<\/strong><\/h4><ul dir=\"ltr\"><li>The two competitors eliminated in the semifinals compete in an extra duel. The winner joins the two winning semifinalists in the final.<\/li><li>The card is drawn before the start and both see the pattern.<\/li><li>At the signal of start, each competitor has <strong>60 seconds<\/strong> to vaporize and serve.<\/li><li>The vaporizing is done with eyes open. Before serving, the competitor places the sale and makes the whole pour with blindfolded eyes.<\/li><li>The time stops when the competitor lowers the milk container and raises his hand. Only then does he remove the sale and bring the drink to the judges' table.<\/li><li>Drinks that are finished outside of time are not evaluated. If no competitor finishes within the time limit, the duel repeats.<\/li><li>Judgement is the same as in the other rounds: the judges point to the cup that most closely resembles the drawn pattern.<\/li><\/ul><h3><strong>Final<\/strong><\/h3><ul><li>In partnership with Eco Bites, the baristas face a new challenge.
